“Take head to yourselves that no one deceives you.”

It’s our responsibility to guard our hearts.

 

DEUTERONOMY 11:16 (NKJV)

All idolatry begins with deception.

Same warning in the old covenant.

 

“BE NOT DECEIVED” WARNINGS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT

1 TIMOTHY 4:1-5 (NKJV)

• Depart from faith…
• Give heed to deceiving spirits.
• Doctrines of devils.
• Speaking lies in hypocrisy.
• Conscience seared with a hot iron.

 

2 TIMOTHY 3:12-17 (NKJV)

The #1 safeguard is God’s Word.

Continue in it.

Know those among you teaching.

 

EXAMPLE: EVE

 

GENESIS 3:1-5 (NKJV)

“Hath God said?”

Question God’s Word.

“You shall not die.”

Reject truth.

“Knowing good & evil.”

Who needs God?
