Kingdom Battles
Romans 14: 17 (read)
“For the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy, in the Holy Spirit.”
*Most of the spiritual battles you will face will be based in one of these areas.
#1) Righteousness:
- I’m so unworthy: 1st Samuel 24:14 King David being chased by Saul said “I’m as worthless as a dead dog, or a flea.”
- I’m the cat’s meow: Luke 18:11, “The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed this prayer; I thank you, God, that I’m not like other people – cheaters, sinners, adulterers. I’m certainly not like this tax collector. I fast twice a week, and I give you a tenth of my income.”
*If you don’t walk in God’s righteousness which is by faith
(Romans 3:22)
You will walk in your own righteousness!!!
(Rom. 10:1-3)
(Romans 5:19) “For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so as by one Man’s obedience many were made righteous.”
#2) Peace: Peace is a person, not a place!
Jesus is the Prince of Peace: meaning in his kingdom is peace and he’s the ruler of that kingdom.
2nd Thess. 3:16, “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way…”
John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you: my peace I give you…”
- As followers of Jesus, we are to seek after peace and the things that make for peace.(Rom. 14”19)
Col. 3:15, “And let the peace of God rule your hearts…”
Rom. 12:18, “Live at peace with all men, as much lies within you”
#3) Joy:
Neh. 8:10, “The joy of the Lord is your strength”
- Without joy, your marriage, Job, and ministry are in serious danger!!!
*Heb. 12:2, “Looking unto Jesus …”
Joy doesn’t eliminate the problem. It does help you endure it long enough to see the victory.
